Well I did 25 banks recently on my way back home from the beach and came up empty.
$60, $50, $200, $230 cwr halves: skunk
$30 loose halves: skunk
Also came up with only $2.16 clad and a bunch of trash with my detecting on the beach. Oh well...it's only my second time metal detecting on a beach. I'll get better or lucky at some point. I at least cleaned it up for the next detectorist.
Big surprise after the slim pickings last week. The bottom half of the box had several rolls with three silvers and lots with two...my son did most of the opening and he had a blast...keep on rolling!
The silver vein continues. It's going to be tough whenever this action turns into a skunk streak. Less than last week but nice enough especially with two Bens. So...I need to enjoy the ride.
Bought some silver coins on EBay with my metal scrapping funds. Got 13-90% for $82 with free shipping with a spot value of $74. Pretty good deal considering the high prices ebayers are paying $8-$10 a coin whereas I got them for $6.30 a coin.
1917p, 1918s, 1920p, 1935p, 1936p, 1941p, 1942p walkers
52, 54, 57, 60, 61 bens and a 1964.
Copper is the best, but I also scrap aluminum, stainless steel, and brass. The most recent scrap was four window a/c units. To maximize the nonferrous (non-magnetic) metals I break them open and cut out the good stuff. I also scrap the ferrous stuff (magnetic metals), but you don't get very much for it. It's more of a hobby rather than something to live off of, but it does allow me to buy some silver.
