2011 Illinois Silver Tally

Bump me up to 33. Only had about 30 min to detect and made good use of the time, picked up a 1943 d merc. It sure seems like the 30's merc are harder to find, ive found countless 20's, and teens, and a boatload of 40's, but the 30's i dont find as often so when i do i get pretty exited.

Hello, I got a 1916d Barber Quarter, and a 1917s Mercury Dime. That puts me at 32 for the year.

How can you find a Barber Quarter and not give us a pic??

Went out to an old Tavern site today got 3 Rosies 49,60,64 that makes 9 so far this year. I got 79 total last year. hope to beat it this year

Hello 2011. Another year behind us, and a new one ahead of us. I will continue to keep updating our silver finds for Illinois in 2011 as long as you guys want to participate. I think its just pretty cool seeing the number of silver coins coming up out of the ground in our state, and seeing how the numbers will change year after year. Since we are pulling so much out, and no one is replenishing it. This tally is not intended to create any sense of competition, just a simple tally for ourselves to follow. Enjoy 2011, and I hope everyone meets and surpasses all of their goals. HH! L4S

Is it too late for another t-net mamber to get in on this tally? My Buddy Chris(Goldinwater) is at 22 Silver's for 2011 I'll see if I can get him to post on here.

I would hate to put someone up on the tally if they don't want to participate. If he wants to, and wants to keep it up to date, have him post it on here and I'll keep up with his count.

Hello, I went out for a bit today. I got a 45' merc, and a 1964d Rosie putting me at 34 for the year. I told Goldinwater he needed to post his total on here, he said he was going to. we'll see.

Oh, forgot to mention. Corinth1812 I would have taken a pic of it but it was about 10-11 inches deep at an old football field. My hands were so muddy after digging it there was no way I could operate the camera on my phone. Chris and John were there to see it dirty, they both got silver there to, just not a Barber Quarter! LOL!!!

Up to 36. Found 3 more today, a real nice 48-d wahsington quarter, a 44 merc that took 20 minutes to get out from under the asphalt and a 50 d rosie.

Got three more silver's today put me at 37 now. a 1944 Merc, a 1957d Rosie, and a 1924 British Six Pence Coin.

Please bump me up to 37. Found a 41 merc today at a local fairgrounds. That makes 19 silvers from this fairgrounds in 2011. also found a fuse that has a silver contact point on it, went off as a penny, but sounded good.

Bump me up to 42 What a day!!!!!! 23 merc, 41 merc (2) 43 p war nickels and the beauty a 43 s Walker..... oh and my 300th lifetime... the first war nickel was number 300. I did a little happy dance, did another when i found the Walker.

Alrighty you IL guys and gals...I have plane tickets to fly home (NW IL) in late April for Morel picking and metal detecting for 17 days! Who's ready to find some silver?? I am for sure; my Dad has a hot spot located that he believes has been a sleeper since silver was first made!! I can't wait to add my silver counts to this forum!

Just so you know, when I return to Alaska...it's back to the gold drege/sluice for me!
