I believe its silver plated. Found at an early 1800s cellar hole. The variety of finds makes it difficult to ID the date of certain things. This buckle being one of those things. Third photo will give some size reference. Wondering the age & use...belt buckle or was it for something else? Thanks in advance! 30659121251_1a49abb9f0_z.jpg 30659118891_82c35bb471_z.jpg 30110322774_0be9571a0f_z.jpg

looks like a woman's sash buckle. at least from your photos, it appears to be nickle plated. my personal opinion is that it dates to around 1890-1900

It is a 'Gibson Girl' sash buckle. 1890 - 1910.
