Day two at a new site that I first hit last night about 7:00. Yesterday gave me 2 coppers and a bunch of buttons. This morning I headed back for a more concentrated search. Three more buttons. Silver gilt Dandy button, Rich gilt one piece button and a military button that I have seen a hundred times before........... Some one please educate me on this one.
I think I have one more copper :help: One side has a bust facing right, the reverse has what looks like an eagle, upright with wings spread. I have no idea what it is, coin, token? Very thin and slightly larger than a US Quarter.
You will notice a 1980 Quarter in the pick. That damn thing came from 6" down, in the best part of the field and had me going for a while :o

Anyway...... Here are some pics. Not too much cleaning yet. I want to ID first if possible.

The button is a War of 1812 button. I just saw one similar to it at the Military show in Mansfield Ohio today.

I went back to the Token field tonight after work for a short hunt. About 15 min. into the hunt the owner pulled in by my truck and came walking out to make sure that I knew that there was another stone foundation a little bit behind the field. I already knew it was there but have not explored back there yet, but what a guy ! He gave me a bunch more info about the property and needless to say we had a good visit.
I will be looking for a chain for him on Saturday (weather permitting)

I told him of the finds....... He really dont seem to interested in the "junk" but he can see that I like it !

So..... No finds tonight. There will be much more from this place. I still have yet to check out the foundation on the other side of his property that he has told me about.
