I got about 3 full boxes of pearls, synthetic gems, imitation gems, mineral and glass buttons, and loads of beads and jewlery parts. All this stuff is very old in the original packages and in old cigar boxes. Does anyone know of any website about this stuff? I dont know if this is really the right place because it seems as though you look for natural gems... but some of these smaller ones are natural gems. I just thought you may have run across something or know who would be intrested in these. I would imagine collectors of costume jewelery would be intrested in this stuff. Anyway help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello friend,

Firstly the gem market is full of unbelievably perfect synthetic gemstones. Even professionals have a difficult time distinguishing man made from natural due to exact chemical and molecular structure.

If you take your collection to a jeweler, they might for a price help you separate the stones.

Ebay is my favorite place to learn, study, compare, and ask questions to dealers.

Good luck. This is a very very profitable treasure hunter endeavor.
