CNN said:
The 20-year-old student accused in a stabbing rampage at a Texas college campus told investigators he had fantasies of killing people and had planned the attack, sheriff's officials said late Tuesday. Dylan Quick, 20, was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after the stabbings, said Donna Hawkins, an official with the Harris County Prosecutor's Office.
"According to the statement the suspect voluntarily gave investigators, he has had fantasies of stabbing people to death since he was in elementary school," a statement from the Harris County Sheriff's Office said. "He also indicated that he has been planning this incident for some time."

The question is:

How many times did he have to change the clip?

Why didn't he have to pass a background check to buy the knife?

Knowing of his eccentricities (he often walked around holding a stuffed animal according to an AP report earlier today), why was he permitted to purchase a box cutter knife?

How many blades did he have? How many did he use?

Why do we allow the sale of knives that have more than one blade?

Although this type of knife is used by sportsmen as well as loading dock workers and sheetrock hangers, how can we allow the purchase of these knives?

Since these knives are so dangerous, why can't we restrict these knives so that they can only use one blade? Who needs more than one blade a day to hang sheetrock?

No, it isn't funny. These people were hurt by a crazy person. It wasn't the knife's fault, but the operator's fault only.

Apply the same logic to the Newtown case. It wasn't the guns, it was the operator that was dangerous.

Knives don't kill people, they peel apples, potatoes and help people do various jobs. Lunatics Kill People...

That was a very upsetting event. How many of the victims died? 0
Now substitute the word SHOOTING for STABBING in this sentence and then ask how many would have died....

Anything can be used as a lethal weapon even your hands, the difference with guns is that they are lethal at a distance and have the capability of mass injuries/deaths in a very small amount of time. How fast can you pull your finger in 10 seconds? Try it...each one of those pulls could have been a death from 20 or more feet away.

You are living in a fantasy land. Substitute knife with baseball bat, substitute knife with Teddy bear. A weapon of any kind is dangerous if the other person is unarmed, THAT is the point.

Nah, the difference is "How's your aim?"

The only reason no one died is because his aim with the knife sucked.

The same day as the "Newtown massacre" happened in this country, another massacre at a school happened in China . . . there were more deaths . . . and the assailant used a KNIFE.

It isn't the tool. It's the evil person using it.

Goes back to that stupid "inanimate object argument". Some weapons are much more lethal than others people - does absolutely anyone want to deny that?? That is why our military and police are armed with guns and not box cutters. That's why each one of you talks about the need for guns for self defense and not box cutters. Why is anyone still making this mindless argument??

Because liberals continue to attack our rights and liberties writing mindless laws that will do nothing to stop criminals but will hinder law abiding citizens from protecting theirselves.

Need to get your facts straight mate.

There were NO deaths in the Dec 14th school knife attack in China.

Although 20 school children have been killed over THE PAST FEW YEARS from knife attacks there.

27 died at Newtown.

You're all grasping at any straw available, and being quite childish about it in the process, to vindicate your stances for having guns! As TH points out 5 times a week....the 2nd can not be infringed....so why continue these countless threads of panic, paranoia and pettiness? (yes, comparing 20 dead kids to attacks from knife, baseball bat, rocks, teddy bears..is "pettiness"!) It doesn't do you any favours!

"3 charges of aggravated assault" huh?....A real "rampage"! A real relevent comparison to use isn't it?....Please!

Wasn't he DEAF or HEARING-IMPAIRED or something...?

After reading some of the accounts, he was apparently deaf AND MENTALLY IMPAIRED.

So, we treat them with kidd gloves and try to make them part of a civilized society . . . which they sometimes cannot handle.

As to Dano's comment about the Chinese school incident, the original report was the only one I read. It stated (if memory serves) 22 children KILLED. If it was later changed to fit What's his name's agenda, that is on him.

As long as the liberal left and closet liberals continue to try to attack our rights and freedoms under our Bill of Rights we will continue to be vocal in voicing our resistance to these attacks on our rights..We will not go quietly into the night...

In the last 24 hours I have written every single one of my state and federal reps up to and including Attorney General and Governor of Florida and Attorney General of US and O.

I made it very clear I resent the attacks on our Bill of Rights and will vote and campaign against anyone who supports any new gun laws including background checks ..

Dano: Do you have any idea how easy it is to change those things? Just a matter of changing a date on a server before you change the text, then changing it back.

I have the nasty habit of capturing web pages, but don't know if I did that one. Have to check when I get home.

You know what, we agree on the sentiment of your post. He is OUR PROBLEM, not yours.

As far as the BBC article, YOU were right, I was wrong. Good catch.

If he was DEAF, wondered how LE Investigators got the FACTS from him; HOW did they communicate with him; can't be just any person who knows Sign Language; gotta be CERTIFIED Sign Language Interpreter for LEGAL reasons. His MI is part of his DEAFNESS; ever been in any DEAF Community...?

Nice of you to admit it mate. I take no pride in it, just stating the real facts.
