Went with a friend to hunt a sideyard lot after work today. Had to cut it short, but just before leaving found this cool sterling spoon. It has the last name engraved and also '11. Which I assume is 1911. Have to do my home work on the hallmarks. Something like...RM(elk's head symbol)&8 Sterling

Weighs in at 1.08 oz. Thanks for lookin'

When you get a Sterling Spoon and it's really beautiful too - you are living the dream amigo ! With the last name you might be able to
connect with a family member too ! Great find .

Thanks guys.

Have thought about the family thing also. Wow, 1911 and was kinda thinking it looks like it came from a nice set...probably Grandmas' set. Might be looking at a great great relative.

I have only found a plated one too. That one has a lot going on for it. Very nice find that I hope to make someday.

The hallmark is actually R W (Stag head) & S, for Robert Wallace and Sons. Found on line that R. Wallace & Sons, Wallingford, Connecticut used this name from 1871 to 1956. Currently called Wallace Silversmiths, Inc. You may be able to look up the pattern and date it's years of manufacture, obviously 1911 was in there! Sub 8-)
