sdcfia,

I really like ballads, stories, love songs, classics,

good instrumentals, and a lot of good rock-n-blues...

Mosty drawn to treasured melodies and harmonies, excellent

compositions, excellent positive writing, and hidden spiritul truths...

Heard this song when I was a kid, and liked the singing and guitar playing.

Though I did not understand much, about world events, or the politics then...

Yes, the British did, and do have a lot of influence on, and lend inspiration to US...

It's not really all that surprising though, considering we are many, all of the
same house so to speak, though maybe of different kinsman tribes... :sunny: :fish:

The audio is a little tough, but the overall video is spirited...

Got to see Jimmie Vaughan and 'The Fabulous Thunderbirds'
once, playing with a multi talented band line-up, all
together on the "Southern Spirit Tour"...8-)

The Barefoot Servants were really entertaining, the cool,
Black Lead Singer and lead guitar player, playing a bone
colored Fender Stratocaster, moving around grooving,
doing a couple of the songs of, and acting like, the
legendary talented, innovative Jimi Hendrix...

Like the bone colored Strat on this vid.

I told my cousin, that's the closest that we'd
probly ever get, to seeing someone play like Jimi,
and that was memorable, him singing 'Foxy Lady', etc...

Speaking of which, there was an older, 80's Bone colored Fender
Strat like Jimi's, on ebay in Sept. of last year... It showed the colors
of aging (wood & yellowed plastic), and looked to be in good shape...

(Japan made 'American' company guitars are pretty desirable,
now aged, and well made pieces, for reasonable prices. Though
'Vintage American' is the ultimate, and can also be very pricey)...

...It had Jimmie Vaughan's autograph, across the front upper top,
along the cutaway of the body. Above that, was another autograph,
and tho' spread out, I could make of it, Alvin Lee, though no one had
said anything about it, like they didn't know, or wasn't sure of the origin,
or provenance... :sunny: :fish:

One of their best...

Yeah, if one is making a good living with a recording contract,
I guess they can critique their own work and say, this isn't
really what I, or we want to do. Maybe they don't even
need money, at the time... Royalties, on a well played
or sold song, can pay well, maybe for a lifetime...

There is a good balance, style and melodic sound, that
some bands have innovated, say for example the Beatles,
and so on. They started out doing songs, that were very
much commercially successful, though also innovative
for the day. They were melodic, and full of harmonies.

Later, because of culture, social events, etc., they did
the then risky stuff, like Yellow Submarine, Sgt. Peppers,
and all of the stuff they did that was new back then...

They were even more successful with the risqué stuff,
because of their huge following, and social culture...

Having a following is necessary, and bands that are
satisfied with all that they have going on with their
preferred styles, more power to them, I say...

Pink Floyd, marched to their own sound, all the
way to huge critical acclaim, huge commercial
success, and history making records, and also
got to laugh, all the way to the bank. I personally,
don't think there's anything wrong with making a
very good living, doing what you love to do, even
if it is commercial, for which there is need and also,
always the potential, of good paying creative demand.

There have been bands with great success, that
were not always commercially successful, or
even critically acclaimed... So long as the
bills get paid, but the recording business,
is quite a competitive world. People want
to get paid well for working, and there's a
lot of hungry/greedy fingers, in the musical pie... :sunny: :fish:
:cross:
The really good recording equipment, is very expensive,
so it often comes down, to recording contracts. That, with
all of the laws, lawyers, and monies involved, is where many
a talented soul, has been way layed unexpectedly, sadly dismayed...

This is a little tribute to an excellent singer...

Brad Delp, was the lead singer of Boston,
and one of my all time favorite rock singers...

Such great talent, they say he was a very down
to earth, and really likeable guy. Very personable
and humble, that he acted like a non 'Rock Star'...

Also very thoughtful and charitable. So sad, with all
of that spirited creativity and success, that he didn't
always have, the treasured 'Peace Of Mind' that,
he had so dynamically sang about...

Why, such a nice guy would give up, and do himself in.
Were spirits working on him, to bring him down, because
by all appearances, he had everything going very well, and
was set for life, with so many people that totally admired him...

We saw them in L.A., on their 'Don't Look Back' tour, and man
they were so loud, smokin' hot, and digitally clean. Just like their
highly effects laden and over dubbed, multi-track studio recordings...

Sometime after that, only their second album, they got into a dispute
with their contract for some reason. They were not able to release any
of their music sadly for years, while their case was tied up with lawyers,
in court...

Their phenomenal talent, and musical genius engineering studio work, will
always be one of my definitions, of true melodies, and excellent harmonies... :sunny: :fish:

Video not very clear, audio OK, not bad...

Now, like seeing a super talented singer/musician/ songwriter/composer,
performer, acting with deep expressive, almost normally hidden feelings...

Dynamic, awesome live performance... :sunny: :fish:

Well ya' gotta' know Relevent,

Most concerts had 2 bands, some of them 3, and then
one like the Calif. Jam had 8, an all day event, 'Rockin
In To The Night' Show, and 'The Southern Spirit Tour'
had 5, with .38 Special playin' hot, finishing it up last...

Back in the early 80's Jackson Browne organized benefit
concerts, to help fight (Protests, and Legal Fees) against
Construction of the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Electric Plant,
and that's where I saw several 'ol Rockers. Like Stills, Nash
Bruce Springsteen 'The Boss', Bonnie Raite... She was cool,
up there in her blue jeans, playon' slide on her Fender Strat.
That was an exceptional show, all eve. at the Hollywood Bowl.

Yes, I do like a few of Thin Lizzy's songs, like the 'Cowboy Song',
Jailbreak, The Boys Are Back In Town, etc. In fact they warmed
up for Queen, and were very good. Back then it was expected,
that the drummer would do an extended solo you know, and
Thin Lizzy's Drummer was better than Queen's, the headliner.

He played so fast and smooth, it was like two drummers,
maybe the best drum solo, I have ever seen. The lead singer
was sounding good. He had a metal pick guard on his bass,
and they put a spot light on it, and he would beam it
around, and shine it on different people, a different
kind of trick, while he played and sang, quite well...

Music is like a medicine, when musicians are working, and
pouring out their positive energy to you, it gets into your
spirit, and makes you feel good. We all have our tastes,
the styles and sounds that we like, frequencies that work,
and that we respond to. That's why music has been one
of my life's ongoing studies, just as the other fine arts,
and I have enjoyed studying my lessons well... :laughing7::occasion14:

I think since music Is a spiritual thing. When we take in
positive thoughts and sounds, it makes us smile and be
happy, perhaps even forget our troubles. At least not
dwell on 'em as much, maybe for awhile. When we
are feelin' good and happy, it shows, and we have
positive energy to give back out to those we come
into contact with. This spirit has been gettin' me
treasured doses, of medicine for my happy soul... :sunny: :fish:
:cross:
It took me three tries, to get this post made and submitted...:dontknow:

And 10-4, yes I do lots of editing too, to try and be
at a consistent Archival Quality, for less editing later... :toothy4:

I have a beautiful 2nd cousin, Amanda...

Blonde (Platinum) hair, Blue eyes. Sadly,

I have played this song for her,

Unplugged, with my acoustic...
She smiles... :sunny: :fish:
