I don't want to take anything away from this beautiful find, but is it missing the right wing? If so, it is probably still down there.
This find is cool on so many different levels. Bravo!!!!

:notworthy:HOLY SCHNIKES!!! :notworthy: That is a great find congrats. Can I ask a ? I don't mean to be nosey but what do you do with a find like that? Do you get a percentage for finding it from the state? or do you have to turn it over to the state or museum and not receive anything? or do you own it out right (finders keepers)?. Again I don't me to be rude I've always wondered about that.

I need to say more, this is crazy. :icon_scratch: Not only is it historically significant but its freeking 22k solid gold. :o Thats 91% Pure gold with a melt value of around $7,000 so dubble for being sunken treasure that its $14,000 at the very least. :read2: I'd have to say this is Treasurenet's single best find in the 6-7 years I've been here. It may not be the most valuable but the history behind it and the fact its gold makes it outstanding!! :hello2:

Way to go !! :icon_thumleft: :headbang: :notworthy:

Keep @ it and HH !! ;D :D

I would say the value would be closer to 10 times the melt down value. $70,000+ for a find like this would not be out of the ordinary. Not sure about you, but I have never seen anything like it, and the rarity of it will add even more value!

Great find! What a year for the 1715 fleet!

So much for those detractors that say the 1715 Fleet wrecks are played out. Gold Hound and Gold Hawg are proving them wrong !! Way to Go !!!
