Could this be the sulfide deposit gold they are mining next to me?

could be looks like a lot of schist to me but it has good mineralization iron and hematite.. powder it and pan it out... best solution to it for micro gold i would use a wave table or a chalkboard sluice.. (there is s guy selling em on the web and at gold shows for 189$ i made mine for 16$ .. pm me ill send you pictures

Couple of my latest finds. Ideas as to what they are more then appreciated

picts #1234, meh got that Suphur sheen and mineralization looks like 1.2 have pockets of decomposed pyrite in em..

picture #5 is Olivine Granite.. nice especially when cut polished and used as a show piece.

Picture #6 and #12 more of that sulphur shist.. im beginning to wonder if it might not be a type of sulfide and weather it would yield or not.

pict #7 Garnet shist .. nice

Picture #8 and 9 are either a type of turquoise, or crysacolla good mineralization,, ive seen this with huge silver and gold rivers running thru the rock... it would be one i would cut ,, do not grind and etch this one would yield out a ton of copper but is worth way more to a jeweler. (25$ an oz or more) cut a sliver off with a tile saw (harbor freight 30$) and then use a little parafin wax to keep it shiny and send me a pict!

picture #11 and 12 look good for mineralization but mostly iron and hematite mixed into rose quartz amalgomate.

Broke this huge chunk out of a quartz vein I saw while I was cleaning pools up in ahwatukee mountains. Is that gold or sulfur. ?

pyrite ,, and gold.... grind that bugger down to dust ..pan and etch out the junk! hcl is your friend!

You are awesome thanks for info. Ill head over to harbor freight this weekend and slice that big green one. By the way I got these today in a bunch of river rocks. The pic with two the one in the back is the size a golf ball ha. Let me know if you think any of them are the real McCoy ha.

OK m8! I found out what it is you have there that keeps popping up its Pentlandite!
Pentlandite, a yellowish-bronze sulfide of iron and nickel, (Fe,Ni)9S8. Pentlandite is found in masses nearly always associated with the iron sulfide pyrrhotite.

notice the massive amount of sulphur (FE,NI)=(Iron , Nickle) 9 (x9) S8 (sulphur x8)
specimens sell from 60 to 100 $ dependant on size and they are pretty rare!

Ok so was hunting yesterday in a dry riverbed because I have been doing research about alluvial gold gravels and how gold is not always gold colored. So I have been keeping an eye out and collecting things that had potential. So I got a few different stones and rocks and cleaned them up and noticed a bunch of gold flakes in this one. So I soaked it HCL over night and to my surprise it came out looking like this. It's looks to be some kind of quarts rock underneath what looks to be gold but I'm not an expert so asking for some help. What do you think dusted you ??

All of these new ones are a granite composite.. they allways have good mineralization,, but rarely gold vein some times you get micro gold infused thru ought... crush grind pan.. but I wouldn't probably waste my time on these... they'd probably end up in the rock "Garden"! lol keep a hunting m8! be safe and As always Good Luck!

Hello! Still on my greenhorn prospecting adventures and recently have located an old mine site. Took a scouting trip to the location and I am slightly confused by the site itself and wondering whether I should be looking for lode bearing fissure/rocks or search for placer deposits. I collected a few samples of what could be igneous/metamorphic materials? Along with some gems/crystals in quartz? Not sure...At the site I see no evidence of rock crushing or sluicing/trailings...Have also panned some materials and found magnetic black sand but no gold yet....The mine itself seems to have collapsed on itself years ago and the surrounding area is very steep and covered by overburden....Anyway wondering where I should concentrate my efforts...I have some equipment already including a AT Gold and small recon sluice/pans...any help would be greatly appriciated...Thanks for your time! HH

9 lb chunk of a vein I found in the hills of awahtukee Arizona really heavy need help identifying if there is gold and if it is a part of a gold vein. All pics are of same rock.

I've found an shoreline site with many (thousands) of rocks of this type.
I'd never have noticed them if there weren't some broken specimens,
intact ones don't show the translucent glassy interior
Seems to be some type of flint, chert or volcanic glass, I don't believe it is native to the area, (NH)
One quartz point was found nearby (Kirks Notch type) and a stone bead that set off my detector, which appears to have a vein of gold running through it.
Any help with ID of these rocks and whether they are native to NH would be appreciated

YUMMMM good mineralization Crush Grind Powder pan that!! lol as for the post above some of those ive seen beffore .. I would cut the turquoise ones aka # 3, 5 8,9 the yellowish ones im still puzzled at love to get my hands on 1 or get 1 to a assayer to find out wether they are a sulfide or what they are... as for #10/11 the ruby red quartz is a granite throwback pretty lots of iron in them.. as for these new ones... GRINDERS! yummy

That stuff is everywhere here in Arizona. I doubt there's gold on it.

Keep your eye out for mineralized quartz.

Sweet Micashist with Garnets! if there large enough you can have them cut for rings or other jewelery.. sometimes there just fun to have in there natural stone!

primarily Flint in Ash.. at times you'll also find chunks of lava with enough Iron in them to set off a detector.. (I have a mesa close by with an abandoned pueblo we tried to "Dial Out" the Iron to no avail.8() some even look as if they were meteoric.. but after having a sliver cut off they have all come back as lava bombs with 55% Iron ore in them. I would probably put them under a glass table as conversation pieces.. there fun to look at and the power of the earth is ever appearant! Nice!
