Let's see those homemade projects and honey hole's....

Well i thought this would be fun to share some of our projects, ideas and pictures of our areas. I'm looking forward to seeing everyones ideas that have come to life and some good looking outdoor areas.

DSCN0960.JPG This is my d.i.y blue bowl wash station 12v with auto feed and vibration built in.

IMG-20120213-00005.jpg Here is the bend in the kern river near bakersfield,ca that i work lots of flood gold still hunting for that nugget.

IMG-20120213-00006.jpg This is now a very large hole atleast five feet wide and four feet down and into the bank there is about four feet of dirt above this hole with a large tree on it.

IMG-20120213-00003.jpg This is my A-52 hard at work.

IMG-20120216-00013.jpg My bounty lol not much but its mine....

I found some expanded aluminum at the junk yard (they gave it to me). I framed it and hindged it to fling the remnants back to which they came. What gets through is likely + 1/4 inch, but likely less the 3/8ths. Whatever you scoop on top of the screen pretty much stays there until you wash it through slowly with some scoops of water, thus slowing the material from entering the sluice.

You guys have some awsome adaptations here, ... very good stuff.

think I'm going to do that to my sluice
I have been doing most of my classifying in the hole I'm digging in.
If the sluice is close enough to the dig, I can shovel right into it.
Good job Mr Galt.

I'd like to get back to Kern someday.
That looks like a good spot.
If it's not too much to ask roughly where are you, upper or lower river?
I dry camped and mined in the Keysville Recreational mining zone on the Kern River, just below the dam next to Isabella in 97 for 3 days.
It's BLM and primitive. The gold was corse and small in decomposing Granite.
I will bring my drywasher next time. Only found about a 1/4 gram.

This is in the Keysville area downstream about a mile , I was there fishing (1995) when looking for some clams for bait & dug up some gold insted without any equipment , So of course we went back , The gold is not very big there but you can find some good spots , We ended up with about 1/4 oz after 3 weekend trips untill the crack we were working got too deep for are arms & tools.

I call this my (use your best New York Accent) SCOOPAA

I may be able to still go back to my spot without freezing my hands off.

Hi , The screen sizes are #8,#16,#40 mesh S.S. I don't have a link they are on Ebay under mining equipment.
As far as the "scoopaa" I made one like that but it was not for prospecting ( had to get the septic pumped & used it to remove the "Stuff" that was left on the bottom ) Maybe I should go out back & see if i can find it it should be cleaned off by now? :icon_scratch:

Well since my Coach is benched for the season and I need to stay busy I did a remod on my A52 Flair.
I found a good size piece of perforated sheet metal and I have a garage. Not to mention a shear-break -roller to form and cut sheet metal.

I was looking for something make with it. This was the perfect small project.

im using a 3000 gph bilge on a 1.5 , but a 5600 would be better .. you could even run a 5600 with a 18v on a 2.5
All you need is tubing and a power jet and bilge , bucket and a batt there simple to make..
