Thanks rks for telling me about the pro zero mode a few weeks back. I started using it and can say that 90% of the time its the only mode I use. I think that as I learn more and more about zero mode my finds in trashy areas will pick up. HH Ted

Day one tectin' in Belleview NE was more than a little disappointing. I expected more out of some of the parks here. After all it is the oldest town in Nebraska.
The only half notable was a bicentennial quarter.

On a more positive note...my brothers GTI 2500 works really well. I was quite surprised at its ability to sift through trash with the 9" imaging coil. However, as their flagship detector, it lacks cam locks! C'mon Garrett! Really? I wasn't impressed with the slop in the shafts on a $900 machine!

How is the imaging anyways was allways kinda curious on that is it anything comparible to the v3i for seeing what ur target is I mean i know theres a good price difference but ibthought initially it was close to the spectras ?

Ted,I always use pro zero mode. Every once in a while,I get a wild hair and switch over to pro coin mode, but it doesn't last long!:laughing7: 90 % of the time I also run zero discrimination,I want to hear what's down there. My custom mode is set up just like pro zero, except I have the discrimination set at 30,and nothing notched out. That way I can check a good signal,to see if it is a coin,or bottle cap. When you push on the iron audio, the ATP will tell ya the difference,(no more digging bottle caps)!

Well my Nebraska trip was pretty much a waste. Only pulled a little more than 3 bucks in clad, a cheap bracelet, couple of Hot Wheels and broken lock.
Had higher hopes obviously!
Today, my first day back, I went to some of regular haunts and got another silver ('49 Rosie) and 4 more wheats.

Can't really comment. I've never used the v3i. My Vx3 doesn't have the same analyze screens. I didn't swing the GTI 2500 either but it sizes the object and displays that on the screen.

Yeah highly recommended. I have/had detectors that do somethings better, but I've never had a BETTER detector!

Nice IH fella! Almost a twin to the one I found!

Thx. Funny thing about the IH & the '58 Wheat...the Wheat was 6-7" deep and the IH was about 3". Found about 5 feet apart.
