Re: Post your HOLED FINDS - Coins, buttons & Whatever!

I've got a holed Roman coin which was probably worn by a Saxon as a pendant, and a tiny maundy coin!

1944 newfie penny. I have read some contriversy about this coin. Some say rare and some say not. I don't know but it's rare for me because I found it in south Alabama. :tongue3:

Looks like a pretty common cent in the books. Don't know why anyone would think it was rare. I agree on the Alabama part though!

How about a Canadian LC and a 1787 Massachusettes copper. Both found this year :icon_thumleft:

The coin has been holed, and "reholed" (probably worn as a pendant) and finaly bent and used as trading silver on a viking trading place in Denmark, that I have been so lucky to discover.

:icon_sunny: :coffee2:
Cool coin :headbang: but the holes looked drilled, I would say they were done much later :)

I am absolutely sure, they were made in the Viking age. The place is completely untouched and many of the found Dirhems have these holes.
They were capable of drilling holes in the Viking age, you know ! ;D

They had drills in the Viking age, and much earlier too.
As far back as in the Stone age they could drill very exact holes !
