Rare Late-18th Century Dutch Copper Pipe *APPRAISAL*

KKC got out today to the site we last week. Within the first 5 minutes, I got a perfect copper signal. I was thrilled to see this whole copper smoking pipe pop out. I have been doing research and can't find much about the date of this pipe or smoking pipes being made of copper. It looks like a late-18th century one. Any help, I would appreciate. I have seen many clay pipes being found around Colonial America, but have never seen anyone find/post a copper one. It was found in the exact area where all the Colonial coins were being dug, so it could be a period find.

It was a relic day for me, but I will take it.

You have been pulling out some very strange and rare finds lately. That pipe is fantastic. Never seen one like it.

Great find, an oddity for sure.
Can't figure why someone would make one out of copper, not the best material for a pipe.
Could it possibly be a one off ??

i think that might be a ganja pipe. a bit later in years than you think. someone was using the wrong metal, they thought copper was the same as brass.

But then again, what do I know?

Maybe an experimental pipe made by someone who was tired of breaking his kaolin pipes I bet that baby got pretty hot

It does look fairly early, but hard to say whether it is 18th century or early 19th century. Either way it is a very cool & unique relic!

Sweet Digs Kirk! Looks like y'all had a good weekend. We had a pretty good weekend too...Probably post our pics in the next couple of days....That copper pipe is early, probably late 1700s to mid 1800s. Never seen one like it so Congrat man!
