I could not pass on the offer that my neice's neighbor made to detect their yard next to hers . Their house was built in 1900 however this land was farmed in the mid 1700;s so anything can show up . I only had two hours this morn before church and the lobster feed duties of tomorrow caught up with me ! Mostly clad again with a few wheaties and a 1950 silver Rosie , a heart stopping play coin and the NYC transit authority fare token , Notable relics found was the sword belt clip or kepi hook . I am thinking CW period on this ?? Maybe earlier ?? Quindy, and other CW hunters have you come across this one ?? Another toy soldier . This one lead, and the cute little New York central railroad toy car . Thats about it ! Thanks for looking ! MaineRelic.

Hey Jim You are probably right about the coathook. However I cannot dismiss how similiar it is to the revolutionary war frog belt clip piece ( On left in both photos I found last fall . It has a curve built into the hook like the frog piece . ?? Perhaps wishful thinking But seems unusual for just hanging a garmet ! Can you find another example ?? MaineRelic

Hey Maine just got done looking though over 1000 coat hooks.... :help: Can't find the exact one you have but some very similiar. The 2 mounting holes is a dead giveaway to it being a coat hook. Im sure you could hang a sword from it though :tongue3: I do like the frog one you found very nice. Looks like it was sewn into the leather to hold it in place.

Very nice assortment of finds! :icon_thumleft: I really like the older toys! Yea, your right about the aluminum play coin, every time you pull one of those out you are fooled for a few seconds that it may be a good find. Those darn Shell Presidential Gas Station aluminum tokens from the 1960's fool you for a few seconds too.

I would like to say the hanger is military MR but I'd guess it's meant to attach to something with nails or screws. I CAN say with 100% confidence that you made some great finds. That little RR car is cool. You are having a great year my friend. We have had 3.5 inches of much needed rain here last night and it is still rtaining. We need that moisture for fall relic season. The Tennessee Trio is getting antsy for a hunt!! HH, Quindy.
