Well after 30 years of hiking, camping, hunting and everything else outdoor related I have never had poison ivy. That is until now. To make a long story short I was in a hurry and didn't take my gloves of to take a leak. I'm sure you all can guess where I have poison ivy.

Ok let me bump up the thread with today's bottle digging injuries

First had a boulder about the size of a soccer ball with glass shards sticking out roll down the hill and get me right in the ankle Probably could use 3 or 4 stitches. Cut all the way to the bone. I can barely walk at this point. And if that wasn't bad enough, 5 minutes later while still diggin I go right into a bumble bee nest. Only got stung once but it was right on my cheek at the corner of my eye. Doh!!!

Many myths abound about poison ivy. It takes a few days (1-3) for the rash and bubbles to appear depending upon the event. Once you scratch the hell out of the "bubbles" this will NOT spread the "poison" at all because it's not poison ivy but your bodies reaction to the poison. Nor are you able to transfer it to someone else or spread it upon yourself.

NOW.... with that said I've also done the UNMANLY thing and grabbed the unspeakable....!!! I've done this twice in my life.... Guess I'm a slow learner..... :laughing7:

I AM NOT MAKING LIGHT OF YOUR PAIN.... Go home, butterfly it and superglue it. Now you might want to have a couple of beers or 12 and a good piece of oak dowel.

I've done this... it works... but it hurts. I've even done my own stitches but don't recommend it... that's hurts also (but works)

Many moons ago... Canoeing down the Withlacoochee River...
My buddy decides he is going to stand up in his canoe and take a leak off the bow...
As...
We had consumed a half case of beer apiece... (heh)...
He is bragging how he can steer clear of the big tree branch by leaning just right that he is slowly heading for as he pisses in the windward...

As he approaches the massive branch he is still "mid stream" so to speak...
He begins to laugh and lean saying "oh crap" and laughing all the while as he is beginning to slowly enter the low mass of branches and leaves...

It was about this time I heard his laugh turn to yells... he begins squirming around in the branches yelling...
and then leaps from the canoe ... flipping it with all his stuff...
Then I realize what it was... a hornet / wasp / bee (?) nest that he entered... PISS first. heh

Um... that canoe trip was over. :P

This would have made a good youtube video. lol
