We've heard all about the 250. What about the Ace 150?

I know it's only about a $50 difference in the two machines. But $50 is $50.

I find that I'm taking other people along with me on my MDing outings. I'd like to have something to put in their hands that's easy, effective, and few $$$. I'm also wondering if this would be a nice unit to let property owners use if they want to hunt (might help me get permission).

I've read all the hype in the ads. What's the real scoop on the difference between the 150 and 250?

P.S. My dad has a 250 so I have some experience with one.

The Ace 150 is just a step below with less control than the 250. Less ID segments and less adjustability. There is a slight loss of depth also as the 250 can be used in more places and has a pinpoint mode. For what you descibed however , the Ace150 would do fine. 8) Let me know if I can help you at all.

No pin pointing mode... Missed that part. :-[ There's my 50 bucks worth - even with the quirky pinpointing of the 250.

Thanks for the info.

They are both the same on depth. I think you can get by without all the segments. But I believe having the pinpoint feature and notch is well worth the $50.00 Or you could buy a used 250 for the same price as a new 150.

I'd say the biggest difference is the lack of a pin pointer and the amount of segments. I thought the 250's pin pointer was going to be a waste of time, but it's not. It's more than worth the extra $50 in my book. And the extra segments can be helpful.

The Ace 100 to 300 series were not very good. The 250 is much better with many more features.

The difference as said is less segments and the lack of a pin-pointer. What makes the 250 a great machine?........all those useful segments, but most importantly, the pin-pointer......I'd be lost without it. The Pin-pointer is half of the machine, trust me. It does and can tell you alot more than just pin-pointing. If it's only going to be for property owners, heck, go with the 150, but if it's for you or for friend's to use, be a good friend and get 250! :)
