Well, I can proudly admit that anytime I am in a grocery store, or any bank with Coin changer, I always go straight to it looking in the reject trays. I have found many Silver dimes, foriegn coins, Lotso Clad, and even found a gold earring ( Sitting on top)

So this morning I had to get some stuff for todays lunch, and as always, I walked over to the machine and saw a coin sitting there. I scooped it up and thought for sure it was a Silver Rosie, but after I looked at it, i relized it was just another foriegn coin with a hole in the top, and not thinking put it in my pocket.

I was getting ready for my Fun workday of sitting beind a computer for the next 8 hours, and pulled that coin out to see what country it was from, and then I noticed the Date, at first glance I thought it was 1956, so i wanted to see if it was Silver, but couldnt find a coin that matched that, Then i looked Closer and it was 1856 . After a mini panic attack, i was able to compose myself to make this post...This is BY FAR the oldest coin I have found Detecting or CRH...and I wasnt doing either

Point of the Story is..>CHECK THOSE REJECT TRAYS!!!! SG1L4834.JPG SG1L4835.JPG

Awesome! Too bad someone drilled a hole through it.

Yea, It would have been nice without it, considering its actually in decent shape...Im assuming its silver?..but not really sure..All I got from my internet searches is that its from Sweden or the Netherlands

Congrats on the find!!! Why doesn't that happen to me? Lol

And thanks to TheMastermind for that site. I found my foreign coin collection the other day and was wondering where I could look them up.

I still belive that Coinstar machines hate silver dimes, found 2 1939 dimes today in the reject slot at my store, one was really dirty and one was semi clean,ALSO keep an eye out on gift cards right now, lots of gas stations are running 10 cents off a gallon deals and not everybody uses the whole amount on these cards.I found several cards with a total of $4.25 on them this week:laughing7:
