Picked up two boxes of halves yesterday, both were skunks. Blah.

Very impressive MM! What banks have counters in lobby? A certain branch or only a individual bank in ur area?

Dumped the halves from yesterday and found a Roosie in the reject tray: 1964.

Picked up two boxes of dimes, only managed to find one Roosie: 1946.

The '46 looks plated with some sort of white metal, and it has two areas along the edge that jut out. Maybe it was in some sort of mold and the plating leaked out a little? Maybe it was fastened to something? :icon_scratch: :dontknow:

That sounds interesting. Any way you could post a pic? Any metal plating that I've seen has been done by dipping, or electrolysis. A raised edge would make me think that someone might have tried painting it with a metallic paint. ??? That's intriguing.

The parts of the edge that jut out are across from each other, one looks like it was at one time a small metal loop. Seems to me like it was maybe part of some sort of jewelry. Maybe made into a charm? I'll try to get pics.

Well, just lost my first pick-up bank. Just called to see if my one box of halves had come in, and they said yes. But, this is the last free box. Going forward there will be a $7.50 fee per box.

That's more than the five dollar charge I've heard of! Can't wait to see what you come up with today!

Dumped the dimes from last night, snagged a Roosie from the teller's tray when I went to get my cash: 1963D.

Picked up two boxes of halves. One of which was that last free one mentioned above. I hope it's a good one!

I'm still going to try and hit that branch up for loose halves though. They've delivered at least one keeper probably near 8/10 times with loose so far. Don't want to give that up.

Went through one of the boxes of halves last night, it was a skunk.

Dumped them and found five Ikes clanging around in the coin machine. I'll take a free five bucks any day! 8-)

Picked up a box of dimes and a box of nickels.

And I'm starting to remember why I don't go through nickels very often...

EDIT:

Skunked on the second box of halves as well.

Skunked on that second box of halves.

The box of nickels gave up three keepers:

1936 Buffalo
1942P War Nickel
1943P War Nickel

8-)

That box of dimes I picked up with the nickels gave up one Roosie: 1963D.

Picked up a box of halves today, it gave up a 1964 Kennedy. It was a reverse ender, my first 90% ender actually.

Nice! Just the one Silver in the box? Man, I hate that, goes against the norm. HH, Maverick.

Yep, that was the only silver in the box. Usually when there's an ender, I get at least five or so keepers. Oh well.

Halves seem to be drying up again, I guess I just got in on a good batch of boxes. Hopefully another good batch will make it's way back around soon. Haha.

Picked up two boxes of halves today, two big fat skunks.

Today I picked up a box of dimes, and a box of halves + $8.00 in loose halves. Skunked on the halves.

The box of dimes gave up two keepers:

1944 Merc
1958 Canadian

My first foreign silver found out in the wild. 8-)

I have a good amount of foreign silver from when I used to collect with my grandfather as a kid. But that dime is the first since I started this hobby last year.

Went to my favorite dump bank, some :censored: brought in a few buckets full of quarters and halves and clogged the whole bank up. A couple tellers and a few customer service reps were out to lunch, so it was madness in there. Line of regulars was like twenty people long. Line for the coin machine had five people in it.

This was me:

Went to another dump bank, was running out of time so I was only able to dump $250 of the halves + $125 of the dimes today.

Picked up a box of dimes and $50 in CWR of halves. Skunked on the halves.
