Cleaning parts of old plow?

Found where an old house used to be. The house was gone by the 1930s and is in rural southeast Texas.

Parts of an old plow with roots grown through it were found about 6 inches down.

Suggestions on how to clean this up? The piece is about 2 feet long.

Wire brush on a four inch grinder works pretty good. Cool find.
