Possible Revolutionary War Button? Please Help!

I metal detected a Rev war spot today and found this button. I was hopeing someone here could help identify it. It is roughly 22-23 mm wide. I think it says JTE on the front.

Its a common modern blazer button, seen a few on here

I've never seen that button, but definitely not old enough.. Looks late 19th century - early 20th century. There were 2-piece iron/tin back buttons during the civil war but I don't think this is one of them.
