Together with a friend I found a Dacian fortress (dating about II century B.C. - I century A.D.) . Near this place were in ancient salt resources, fertile land close to the river Mures, but also a strategic control of large valleys. All these reasons but also because in old documents and maps were references to the names (lost in time) suggesting a strategic location we decided to research this place. The area is hidden by forests and quite difficult to access. After a few visits there, I received confirmation from the team of archeologists that we found a very interesting and unknown Dacian fortress.
We recovered these : - dacian pottery shards , fortress iron nails from the wooden reinforcement , thumbtack type ornaments that adorn the handles of tools, items palisade (maybe the shields, etc...), dacian iron ploughshare , dacian iron chisel , two knife blades , curved blade , two parallel segments of iron (probably handle) , two fragments of dacian ironbrooch , 5 dacian iron tools (hidden) for wood processing , two bronze bells , iron object like a buckle , fragments of knife , suport fragment of a bronze vessel , roman republican silver denarius, Lucius Memmius, 109-108 BC , roman republican silver denarius, Lucius Marcius Philippus, 56 BC., commemorative coin, with reference to the construction of the famous Roman aqueduct Aqua Marcia in 144 BC. (in this areas , roman republican coins were the currency in the Dacian world) , two flint and three medieval knife blades (outside of the ancient area).
Enjoy !
