What’s up everyone! Today was one of my best days ever!
Me and my brother woke up early to detect a beach nearby and it was a wild day from the start. I’m pretty new to beach detecting so I didn’t really know what I was doing from the start, but figured it out pretty quick.
About 20 minutes in, I get a signal that rings up as a 40, or in most cases, a silver dollar. I didn’t really think I had a chance at finding something good this early on, but stayed cautiously optimistic. However, when I pulled it out of the sand, I knew immediately what I had found, a silver dollar!
I yelled to my brother across the beach and we both ran to the water to rinse it off before even knowing what it was. Turns out, it’s a 1903-P Filipino peso minted in the US when the Philippines was a US territory! https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1903-s-peso/90382 (here’s a clean picture for reference).
Excited for what we had discovered, we kept on trekking on. About an hour later, I find a king Eddie Canadian quarter! My first silver Canadian quarter. No date however it got toasted by the salt water. Also found a Rosie along the way! All in all, a fantastic day if digging! The peso may be my coolest find ever!

Also, the Seattle butthole tag had me crackin up
