LEAD_AND_THINGS.jpg

All were found on the first go-round with this hobby. Thought the experts might enjoy seeing/id-ing these. Speak up if anyone wants a different angle.

The ones in the front row appear to be different types but I'm not a bullet expert.

One of them might have been a fore runner to a "hollow point" :)
The hole in the top is threaded!?!

One of the musket balls appears to be of the "ABC" variety. :)

Small bullets:

This looked to be off a hammer to maybe a flintlock?

The small seal might be a baggage tag of some sort.

The key is huge! Maybe an old jailhouse key? Pirate treasure chest key?

And finally, the large bronze/copper disk. (BOY!! Did I think I found a LARGE coin at first!!! Talk about a solid, good metal hit!!! :)

Maybe a lantern plate?

Anyway, hope it brings some fun to someone out there.

Thanks for taking a peek.

The hollowed out bullet has been "wormed" that is, got stuck in the barrel and had to be yanked out using a special tool. The hammer looks more like a swivel latch to keep a pane of glass in place. The luggage tag is a bag seal that appears to be from the B & O railroad.

Thanks for the info GC. Can you shed some light for me, on the different types of bottoms? The 3rd from the right has some small holes around the inside. Just curious. Trying to learn. Is there any way to tell a Yank mini-ball from a confederate's?

Don't think it was from a Flintlock now.

That little handle piece, it's not magnetic. Doubt it could be from any gun.

Oh well.

I can't tell what the buttons are without a clearer picture. I recommend posting on the what is it? forum with better pictures and any wording on the back of the button. They probably date to the civil war, like most of your finds. Keep hitting that spot, you're pulling up good finds

Ummmmmm, buttons? I don't think there are any buttons there. There are three musket balls and a very large brass disk.
One of the musket balls looks like it had been chewed on.

I'm confused.
(nothing new there) :)

Thanks for your help.
