1,000,000:1 Chance and I almost missed it

No, I did not find this metal detecting or coin roll hunting or even Coinstar. In fact I found it because a) I was running not late, but close to it, for work and 2) Didn't have time to find where I had placed my cigarettes. Anyway there is a gas station on the way to work where I can normally get in and out without standing in line. Got lucky and got a spot right near the door. In and out in a flash.

As I was going back to the truck I noticed one of the black spots on the pavement looked round. Nah, I thought, too dark and not quite round. Turned away and something said take another look. Still wasn't sure, but bent down anyway...I just about had a heart attack when I saw it was an Indian Head Cent!

I was right about the coin not being perfectly round. It's bent in the center.

Ive eyed ball civil war relics out of the blue while not even looking or relic hunting. Found one cw bullet while playing golf! relics are everywhere.
