Me, Darby and Jon decided to spend the last hour or so tonight detecting a field we've all detected quite a few times before....and I'm glad we did. We all spread out an wandered around the field digging a few signals here and there. Then a faint 79/80 on the at pro. Flip the dirt and at first i thought it was a worn flat button but after a soft brush off i saw the pillars....my first spanish silver. Made my night:) Thanks for looking and good luck. Super awesome find Joseph! Glad you dug that on our quick afternoon hunt since our road trip today wasn't that productive! Digging a Spanish silver made the whole weekend great no matter what else we found! Big congrats and hopefully you can finish off the weekend with a nice military button tomorrow!

Great find in awesome condition. Well done...

I never tire of seeing Spanish silver. I love seeing the excitement of others when they nail one. Great job on a beautiful coin

My first was also 1783

Wasn't that the year Washington was inaugurated?

That's a GREAT find! Still waiting for my first.. WTG! I'd keep looking there...

Wasn't that the year Washington was inaugurated?

No, but it is the year that he resigned his position as commander of the continental army. Also the year Britain recognized our independence with the treaty of Paris, ending the rev war. Not a bad year to find on a coin, :)
