What is up everybody?

Got out for a hunt this morning and I wasn't disappointed. I hopped around from place to place, probably hit 6 sites total.

First site was a bust, but not the second. I'm in this little patch, 9' x 30', and getting some wheats. "Not bad" I'm thinking. About 15 minutes in I'm digging a target out about 4 inches down and a big disc pops out. "Cool, a pop can" I'm sarcastically thinking. Then I take a closer look, no way!! Another Morgan dollar. I just got my first in June, I can't believe it. Too bad it looks like it was run over by a semi.

So I'm humming along and manage a couple other really good finds, a Merc and a v nickel. Then it happens. I'm getting a pretty junky signal, maybe a 12-23 at 2 inches. I pass these signals up 9/10 times but something about it, just a little squeak, intrigued me. Well, I am glad I dug it. Turns out it was a ring. Felt pretty heavy but it was kind of a reddish gold color so I wasn't sure - until I wiped away the dirt inside, 10K! Not only that but I send a photo to my buddy Mike (Echoplex) and he fills me in.

It's Victorian era. It's black onyx with a hand-cut diamond in the middle. And it's big. He said a ring like that usually goes for at least $1000. [emoji33][emoji33][emoji33]

Somewhere along the way I also picked up that silver bracelet, didn't think much of it until getting it home and cleaning it up. Also, got my first old compass from the same site. Pretty nifty!

I tried about another 4 spots after that and just managed a few Wheats, a tax token, and some tootsie toy cars.

What a day. Hope you all are getting out and I'm hoping for some rain soon here in Seattle. It's been one of our driest summers ever and digging in the concrete, I mean dirt, has been exhausting.

Here are some more pictures:

The tally:
-1 Morgan Dollar (no date)
-10K ring (inside says "To Ralph My Beloved Husband SR 10K")
-1 Merc (28-S)
-1 V Nickel (84?)
-9 Wheats (all common dates)
-1 Tax Token

Thanks so much for looking everyone. What a ride this summer has been. I couldn't even manage to find a silver larger than a quarter last year. Keep after it, the good stuff is still out there.

Good luck in the hunt,
-W

SR most likely = Sears Robuck. If true then that helps confirm age and this exact ring would be listed in an old Sears Robuck catalog. The style is dead on for 1890's.

Here's an example of a Sears Robuck catalog from 1897. Some similar to yours, but no exact match: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=uc1.31158001963940;view=1up;seq=442

Just gotta figure out which catalog...

You are a research machine, incredible!!

Hey Kurios, thanks! So good to hear from you. Yes! Get that therapy done. There are some silver objects in the ground with your name on it!

Well we’ll well looks like my main man washingtonian just knocks it out the park at will. I respect a hunter that hunts hard and you deserve it. Congratulations my friend on huge silver and big gold.

It’s awesome when dollar silver just st plops out like it does. My 8 reales popped out and it was solid black. A feeling I’ve been chasing ever since. [emoji1360]
