Found the small but heavy Sterling belt buckle. It was the only good find of a very short hunt.

Sweet find. I found one last year but it was hollow, not solid like yours. That must be over an ounce.

Very close to it. It weighs 26.3 grams.

Mexican silver is VERY collectable. A quick search shows that it was made in Guadalajara (the triangle tells us that). The eagle with the 50 in it is the Maker's Mark. If you can find a copy of "The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks: Hecho en Mexico" I believe you will find out who Eagle 50 is on page 162 (that page is not included in the on line version of the book).
