Went out today by an old house and found 2 standing liberty half dollars 3 barber quarters 5 mercury dimes 1 barber dime. I only been at this for about 4 months and I think this will be hard to beat.

nice finds congrats HH

You don't have days like that very often!

Beautiful work ! Thanks for sharing !

Great finds . I would be happy with just one of those silvers, a day out detecting

Looking good.Congrats.

Hmm maybe someone dropped their piggy-bank? I have had a couple of really good yards this year but I think yours beats mine. Yards like this are a rarity where I am. Congrat on your awesome finds! Were the barbers together?
they were all in a 5 foot radius so the clothesline sounds right to me. and only 2-3 inches deep.

Those are some early 20th century coins too. I'd be very interested in knowing how all those ended up in the same general area. I would think someone would've noticed that much missing or that much being left in clothes for the clothesline. But who knows. I could see someone losing these from a pocket or bag during the winter: the coins would just vanish under the white. I found 2 Walkers and a Barber half this year: first silver halves ever in 21 years.
...Looks like you found a yard of some Rich folks...lol...Great Haul man!...some people dont find walkers for years!...and yes....this score will be hard to beat

wow what a score. congrats!

All the barbers were about 6 inches apart

Interesting I guess I thought it looked like there was a pattern in the discoloration as if they were overlapping each other in the soil.
All the barbers were about 6 inches apart

Now that you say that I think 2 of them were in the same hole.

Living here in Vegas I would say 70% of my silver coins come out black like this, dont know why. Some come out in HARD packed earth, some sandy and some in rich dark soft dirt. The cleaner ones usually from the sandy. The one thing they all have in common is its almost always hot here. With not a lot of rain.dont know if that makes a huge differance. Anyways great day of hunting. Congratulations.

Fantastic hunt, congrats. Keep up the great work.:occasion14:
