Went out today by an old house and found 2 standing liberty half dollars 3 barber quarters 5 mercury dimes 1 barber dime. I only been at this for about 4 months and I think this will be hard to beat.

That is a good day for sure. I once had a day like that early on and said the same thing... this will be hard to beat. But then I got better at this hobby and started getting the gold. Believe me, keep hittin' it and it will get even better! After all that is what keeps us going.

would you guys clean these up or leave them as they are?

Personally, I just clean the dirt off as best I can, but I do not try and shine them up. Some people do, and that's fine. It does reduce the collectible and monetary value, but some people are not into all of that, they just want to display them.

Great haul for one yard-and it will be hard to beat.

What I thought was a barber dime turns out to be a seated liberty dime either 1887 or 1897 hard to tell its pretty worn

Wow, great finds! Congrats and HH!

I wonder if there is a lot of sulphur in the soil?
Living here in Vegas I would say 70% of my silver coins come out black like this, dont know why. Some come out in HARD packed earth, some sandy and some in rich dark soft dirt. The cleaner ones usually from the sandy. The one thing they all have in common is its almost always hot here. With not a lot of rain.dont know if that makes a huge differance. Anyways great day of hunting. Congratulations.

Nice Goodies... The 1901 Barber Quarter, dose it have an S mint mark...???? $$$$$

Got to be 1887... Seated were minted till 1891, and then the Barber followed till 1916...

Killer hunt there XDigger, absolutly killer. If you beat that any time soon I am moving to Wisconsin.... Naa you go out and murder it, I like to see other diggers have fun too.

Yes, that is one amazing haul for one yard(or for even 2 or 3!)! I wish I would've had that kind of luck when I first started...I know it got me a little spoiled though, especially when You for several hours and are lucky to find one silver!

A big congrats, I'm sure your hooked now!!! Welcome to the addiction!!
