I got out for 2 hours on the fourth and found this really heavy silver piece, don't know what it is so lets hear it. also another pound of sinkers and the usual trash. this is probably my last hunt until the thaw comes.

2.25" long, 2" wide,3/4" thick and weighs about 2 ounces. I thought maybe a jews harp but no reed or remains of one, I doubt a drawer pull or spoon handle, maybe a door knocker but I really think it was part of the gate pieces I've been finding due to the fleur de lis design. supposedly a silver gate stolen from the govenors mansion in montreal after the french and indian war was lost on a shipwreck in 1771. that would just ice my cake nicely indeed.

thanks guys let me know if anyone has a positive id.

happy hunting to all.

p.s. went out yesterday and the ground is solid as a rock.
