officially my last hunt of 2009 (made a deal with the wife, my end being the detector in the closet until 2010) Made some goals and missed some but overall had a good year. these are my finds from last night, dug the IH at the very end when it was getting dark, figured I try and end on a good note. anyway, good luck to you all hunting in December! Griff

Nice Hunt!

Find large numbers of old shotgun shells up here!

What kind of deal did you make? Putting away the detector BEFORE there is snow on the ground? Wow.

I've been too busy to get out much lately, and am looking at the weather report thinking I've probably missed out on the weather we had left. Starting tomorrow lake effect snow up here. That can get real ugly real fast!

On the lighter side, if the snow holds off down there Jan 1 is 2010, right? Not quite four weeks away. Could happen for you!

Good Luck,
Mark

Nice way to end the year! Sweet IH!
Somehow, I don't think you will be able to hold out that long. :laughing7:
I was wondering if you wanted to hit it this weekend. ha

my wife really looks forward to the off season :love6: and she knows that my first outing in spring was february, so that only leaves about 2 months for winter according to a detectors spouse ;D I gave in pretty easy, and it helps with my convictions of being a good family man (8 kids) :help: spring will be here before I know it, with barely enough time to do research, its all good. ;D

To bad about having to hang up the detector when there is still diggable ground to be had. Its all about compromise though. I would just detect one day a week for about 4 hours and I would try to do that early as possible in the day. That worked for my wife. You get 4 hours to yourself to keep your sanity then you give her 4 hours of free time while you stay with the kids. Good trade off. But you gotta try and make that one 4 hour day pay off with primo spots lined up. Jim

Nice Relics and IH PG!

29 MORE DAYS UNTIL 2010!

LOL ;D :icon_thumleft:

Not too many MD'ers even venture out in December, congrats! You had a good year buddy, had a great time getting out and fishin' the old spots...here's to next year, hope it's a good one!

I don't put mine away ever myself Mike, I'll hunt the woods in the winter. Heck I figure as long as I have all them nice warm cloths for ice fishing I might as well detect too, after all it's warmer in the woods than on that ice.

Congrats on the IH, nice hunting!

Good luck,
HH.

You did good for a final hunt there Griff. I think I am done as well. Scored a silver rosie back on the 2nd and have not been back out since.
