14k ring in Guatemala

Hi all,
I've been slowly travelling south, gold and treasure hunting. From the states. I found a ring yesterday that has 14k marking on the band, but it is slightly corroded and I can't see gold. I'm a little afraid of trying to just brush off the corrosion without knowing the best way to clean it.. I'll post picks and see what you fine folks can think up.

Gently with a little soap and water as long as your gentle it should be fine. Thats my dream to travel and treasure hunt. At least someone gets to. lol Nice find.

It was probably 14 K gold plated, If it was solid gold she would be gleaming. All my plated finds had corrosion, some had a tiny bit of plating left on them, while some the only thing left was corroded brass. I had a few with a 14 k mark on them also. Still an exciting and cool find! Congrats.
