On Tuesday I decided to hunt one of the oldest parks around me. All the old timers told me the place hasn't produced since the 90s only trash is left. So I started around a nice field area but only clad from the 70s was popping. After an hour a strip next to some old oaks caught my eye across the street by the end of the park. So I started swinging and boom a 1914 wheatie in some roots, after that I had a high tone 11-40 signal. Popped the plug and the signal disappeared so I probed the hole and got a beep behind a big root after 3 minutes or so I got the root cut and was able to scoop out the dirt and popped out a 1901 barber quarter which I nicked :( After a cigarette started swinging again and popped a few wheaties from the 40s. Then I got a nice 10-47 signal and popped a 1926d merc. Couple more wheats and came up on a 11-44 signal popped the plug and another merc, 1940! A few feet away got another signal 12-41 popped the plug and I saw the reverse of an eagle, a standing liberty quarter! It's a smoothie :(
Then a few more wheats and I got a sweet 11-47 signal next to the sidewalk popped the plug and a 1952 Rosie was looking at me :)
I also dug some weird ornate thingamajigger with some kind of stones which was gold plated at one time, it was deep. I went back to the spot the next day but no luck just 7 wheats two being from the teens. I also scored 2 barber dimes on Monday from the other hunted out park that I hunted last Sunday. So my silver count is 217 for the year HH!

That's awesome! Not too bad for a "Hunted Out Park". The eTrac seems to be a great silver finding machine. Way to go! :icon_thumleft:

Thanks Dave, eTrac is a silver slayer!

I've always heard that rain and freezing will move stuff around in the dirt. My yard has been gone over a lot, but after a couple days of heavy rain I pulled a few coins out of it tonight. Your spot might have some more to find still!

Rain, frozen ground & drought will each have effects on coins in the ground! They can move around more than you would think! Those are some fantastic finds!:headbang:

No such thing as hunted out. Great Finds!!

Great job at looking at topography (In a broader sense, topography is concerned with local detail in general, including not only relief but also vegetative and artificial features, and even local history and culture).

As hunted out as that place is, Doubt that I'd even go back.............:laughing7:.....Keep hitting it there's more there................HH

That's some sweet silver for sure! Congrats! I dream of finding an assortment of coins like that someday. I have a similar park near me (150yrs old and "hunted out"). I just found a '44 Merc there the other day and an 1862 IH fatty a few weeks ago. I feel strongly that this park holds some more silver, I just need to find the spot no one else has detected yet.:coffee2:

the new machines pick up where those old timers machines stopped!! nice haul!

Love the barber,I have yet to find a barber quarter. 5 silvers is a killer day!!

With an etrac, no old park is hunted out!

Can someone help me figure out how to start a new post??? Apparently I'm stupid because I cannot find the link to start a new post or thread. I need some help with my Fisher 1266-X.

Thank you all for the nice comments!
