Hi everyone, I have acquired a find in a slightly different way of treasure hunting... recently on eBay I saw an item which caught my eye, a brass monogram of Friederich III of Brandenburg-Prussia. Knowing it was most likely something good I purchased it very cheap. The item was found in Latvia which was just east of Brandenburg-Prussia. While Friederich III rules from 1688-1713, this bade was from when he was an elector and not a king, 1688-1703. It is most likely this bad went on the front of either a dragoon’s cap or a grenadiers cap. The piece would have been simply sewn on. However it does look like someone tried to clean it. There are treasures out there that people don’t always know about... happy hunting to all.

There are tons of things on ebay that the sellers don't known about, that's a given.
