I got out yesterday on one of my permissions. It was a nice day out with my Army buddy and my brother.

I found the King George copper about 4" down with the deus. I thought it was aluminum because it was such a high sound tone. But I dig everything anyway...This is my first KG1. I've found 5 1/2 KG2'S. But this one is by far the nicest copper I have found! I'm not sure of the difference between the 1/2 penny and the regular penny so if anyone can help I'd sure appreciate it.

Very nice GEO I copper. They are quite hard to come by, many, many more GEO II's around.
I often agree with Hogge, but this time I'm gonna call it a HP, which I'm quite sure it is with the position of everything.
I wouldn't clean it further either, except for a thumb rub if you wanted.

Yep. You can see the size of the coin by comparing it to the LC pic right next to it. A Farthing would be U.S. half cent size. It's halfpenny size. Excellent find and congrats!

I don't know what I should do to clean it. Any suggestions? I was just going to leave it as is so I don't ruin it..

It's a half farthing, and I wouldn't clean it at all. Not even tooth picking since it may cause chipping which I see around the edges. I would seal it with wax and enjoy. You already have good detail.

Congrats again

cool find! congrats man its cool when you dig a hole and you see the roundness.

Wow, impressive ! Keep digging, you have a future in this insanity!

That's a great copper!!!

Very cool! From the time of the Jacobites! Down with the German usurper! The English crown belongs to the decedents of James II, the true king! HAHAHA! :occasion14:
