The cooler weather is finally here, the mosquitoes, chiggers and ticks seem to be gone and the vegetation is beginning to die back here in NJ. I took advantage and got out for a bit this afternoon and returned to a site that I have hit hard with my other detectors in the past. I knew there had to be more finds, but it took a while before I dug anything worth posting. After a while of nothing but a pewter spoon bit I got a deep broken signal, which turned out to be a cuff button nearly 10 inches down. Not too far away I got a bouncy signal reading 8 inches and when I flipped the plug saw the silver in the dirt! I wish I had my camera!

I am very impressed with the depth capabilities of the T2!

We don't get the Fugeos, or the Mass & CT coppers like you guys do. I don't think it's gravity :dontknow: just more likely the way the coins circulated across the colonies made the Spanish coins more popular in this region. Someone should put together a survey similar to Don's NJ Copper survey. I think it would be cool, but the problem is the time-span for Spanish colonials in the colonies was close to 200 years, as opposed to a relatively few years of the state coppers.

Great find Neil.I wonder why the 1776 half was so common vs other dates in that denomination?I think I have found 5 or 6 now?

Show-off! :tongue3: :laughing7:
