1783 Half reale, KG Copper and stuff (UPDATED-George's finds added)

We tried a new spot today for a few hours. We had only found a few buttons each and were going to head to another location when George came across some red brick. Lots of it. So George and I concentrated on that area for a bit. Pulled the beat up 1783 half reale (I think) from there and a few more buttons. The buckshot was all over this place along with the shotgun shells. Also found a 70's pocket spill in that area. On the way back to the car I found the beat up KG copper. Can't get a date off it as usual. George also found a nice shape 1927 Merc on the way to the car. The Spanish silver almost looks like it was in a fire. Also found some melted copper blobs near it. Still a fun day to be out there swinging the coil.

Awesome hunt Mike! Nice variety of finds and the Reale coin is nice even though it looks like it was burned in a fire maybe? HH, Mike

Looks like you found a good colonial site. Might be a few more goodies there. Way to go.

Great Finds!! I know the feeling of digging one of those Reales is one of the most memorable feelings a Treasure Hunter can have. Keep up the good work!! Take care and HH!

Cool. I'd get excited over any identifiable coin that was a reale. Especially if you can read the date. ;D Very Nice find.

there must have been a big fire to melt those coins,,,i just read on the forum that people would bury there money and start a campfire on top of it so nobody could steal it from them in there sleep,i guess a campfire cant get hot enuf to melt the coins.good hunt keep up the great finds
