I was able to get out for a long hunt yesterday, 4 hrs. Decided to try out some areas that I have been researching, both areas were going to be difficult terrain. The first was the wooded land adjacent to a really old cemetery. Multiple presbyterian churches have been in this location until they finally moved to a more populated area around 1940. There were very few items that were in the woods that would let you know that buildings once stood there, or roads or parking. It was like the church was either totally removed, every brick or they dug a hole and leveled it. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1480375231.954584.jpg I spent a couple hours hunting, but after digging a number of big bullets, I was afraid that I might be inadvertently hunted. I think the only thing that is remotely period is the ornate brass/tin piece.
To try and salvage the day I headed to a wooded area of a really old soccer field were the miners once walked up a path to watch their kids play. I was hoping for some old stuff here, but found mostly old car parts and beer cans, but I did get one good signal that saved the day, thank God, my first religious ring, 925 silver. Oh, also learned an important lesson yesterday. I decidedly that with the rough terrain I would wear my old boots vs sneakers. Steel toed boots and metal detecting don't mix. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1480375776.577555.jpg

Thx for looking and good luck!
