I had some play time this weekend so I went to one of my old sandboxes. They all seem to keep giving! I found an 8 lb. cannonball and an 1800 half cent. Remember when you could buy something nice with a half cent? That's Inflation!

Nice one! The soil was kind to that 1/2 cent. Most of mine are toasted on the side that was face up.

Are you in a battlefield area? What's the ball from?

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

This cannonball came from the pine barrens in New Jersey. Most of the cannonballs I find are from the Revolutionary War. Most are not near any documented battlefields. Some are marked with a British broad arrow and others are French. This one was about 3 feet deep on the side of a hill.

WOW!!! Awesome find!!

Most of my buttons at this fort are from the War of 1812. Congratulations on that beautiful 1800 Half Cent I love it. That’s a dream coin in my book
