Hi All,

Went out for a short hunt with my kids today. Was using my new T2SE detector which I like a lot. About 15 minutes into the hunt got a decent signal and dug down to dig up the Batmobile, which was a real cool find. It was made by Corgi but don't know the year it was made so if anyone knows that would be cool to hear. Anyways after about a half hour of hunting I got a bouncing signal between 77 up to 95 on the machine. At about 7 inches out came the Half Dollar which was real sweet to find. I told my kids if we don't get anything good for the day, that with that one find we made our day. There was a lot of high fives going on for sure. After that find we dug a few handle parts from old utensils. Just before it was time to go I got a nice 77 signal on the detector. I dug down about 5 inches and out popped the spur which was real cool for sure to find.

After getting home and cleaning up all the finds. I noticed that the Capped Bust is the E over A variety which was cool. Also I noticed that William Eno signed the front of the coin. He was born in 1800 and lived in the house. Probably value wide it hurt the coin, but I think it is really cool that it was signed by an early occupant of the house. Well thanks for reading and looking.

I'm back again too! :thumbsup:Congratulations on a very well deserved BANNER! :notworthy:

Now that Capped Bust half is one ''Awesome'' find, and well worth a banner vote!! Congratulations! :notworthy:

man that half is awesome. I think it is great that it is signed by someone known to have have occupied the house. to me that makes it even more of a special find, even though it does in fact detract from the numismatic value of the coin. that spur is sweet too. love the batmobile too. I believe it was made in 1966

Looking at the soil on the 'in situ' it appears to be high silica with a low percentage of organic matter, light sandy loam.
great combo for preservation of metal, congrats on the banner !!

Its good to see this made the banner! Congrats!!! :hello2:

I want to take this time to thank everyone for looking at the post. Also for all those that have posted and those that voted Banner, thanks a lot!!!!!!!.

Excellent find, & a great history tie in with the name on the front.

That is such a great find! I'd send it off to be graded and slabbed along with an explanation of the origin of the "graphiti". If you can find a copy (or even better, an original) of any type of document that links Mr. Eno to the house where it was found--a deed, a property tax receipt, etc.--I suspect it would only increase the value. Congratulations! :occasion14:

Very cool find Bubba, gonna be hard to top that one in your lifetime! :occasion14:
Love the spur too!

Congrats,
Dave

Here's your guy...I gather you found this in the Hudson Valley (if so, it's your guy)
William Eno (6) was born 21 Apr. 1800 in Attlebury. He studied law in his father's office and became a lawyer himself in 1823. He had a law office in Poughkeepsie. He was elected to the legislature in 1836 and served two terms as district attorney. He was married to Eliza Stewart, daughter of William Stewart of Pine Plains. He died 17 Nov. 1874 and his wife died 10 Apr. 1882. Their children were: William, Walter, Mary and Frank.

Thanks Bergie, I already have all that information and a lot more including pictures and even more information. Thanks again.

Congrats on the Bust find Bubba! It's in great shape and the obverse is splendid! Still looking for my first "girl" and hope she's as purty as yours. I'd be looking really hard for the rest of her sisters too before they leave w/someone else. Thanks for showing us the goods and best of luck this year.HH.....

Congrats again :occasion14:
