1827 Half Dollar in Coin Lot

This 1827 Half Dollar was in a coin lot I purchased recently.

I paid $308 for all this:
Included are 11 American silver dollars (1879-1924), one Peruvian silver Dollar (Sol), a worn 1836 capped bust half dollar, a 1854 Seated Liberty half, and alot of smaller denomination British silver coins, there's even a Napoleon III silver from 1866 in there. (Did I do good?)

I just had the AI do the math for me, turns out if I sell just the 11 American silver dollars, not even including the cool Peruvian silver dollar, I can make back all the money I spent and even make a $4 profit. Then I can keep ALL the other coins including the 1827 half, the other capped bust, seated liberty and Sol dollar and all the other coins as if they were all free. I think I will do that. I need to start doing this kind of treasure hunt more often. Never really tried the whole buy and sell game before.

Thanks for the info, I bought the whole lot because I always wanted a decent capped bust half dollar and it looked like all the other coins combined would be worth more than the asking price ($325). I only had $308 in cash on me and they said that was enough. I don't think they were aware the price of silver had risen so high in recent months. Now I have a $200+ historic american coin that I've always wanted for free out of it. Just have to sell all the morgans for melt value or higher to get my money back. They're decent morgans too, I need to look at them later to see if there's any rare mint marks, they're probably worth more than melt value now that I think of it.

Your 1827 half is about XF condition but has a bit of damage on the reverse. My 1827 also has some slight damage and I paid $80 for it. I think yours would bring a similar amount on eBay.

Ops coin is not higher than a "VF-20".

And not to be a buzz kill but yours is also no higher than VF-20.... but...... yours would grade out as "scratched".

I never said mine was XF. I agree with VF.👍🏻 VF and XF are still reasonable. The thing I look for on these coins is the circulation cameo. A scratch or two or even a hole don’t bother me. The dark background with a grey Liberty gives them a 3D effect, even on worn coins. Only a small percentage have the cameo. Like this one.
