I just got in to this hobby in the spring and have been thrilled with some of my finds this past summer but there is nothing that gets my heart rate up or gets me talking to myself more than seeing a big green disk in the dirt!!
I dug a somewhat "homely" 34 LC yesterday and was tickled to find it at a hunted out cellarhole but today... another LC from the same "hunted out" cellarhole!. Just goes to show. I repeated "holy $%P" i don't know how many times while i was getting pictures of it in the hole.
It was a gray day here in Ohio,40 degrees and I almost talked myself in to staying in to do some researching and surfin the forum. Figured i better get out while i can, flurries are in our forecast for tonight :tongue3: thanks for havin a look!
Jerry

Jerry, you have a good spot there, glad to see you get another one! Gee, I find a lot of the shotgun casings also. :tongue3: Keep your thimbles, you will be surprised some day at how many you have found, and different styles.........

Don

I need a separate display for mine! Aaarrrgh. But the box of toe taps, box of harmonica reed plates, box of lantern pieces, box of pewter spoon bits, and box of clock and watch parts are ALL overflowing. Help!

So yes. Keep your thimbles. 8) One day they will all look really cool to you--if you can walk to the door without tripping over a box... :P

That's a beautiful coin, Jerry. I think your and my definition of "hunted out" are quite different. We're having our first taste of Winter this week, so keep it up! Rescue these beauties before the snows come!

Great Finds Jerry. Very nice large cents and especially nice since you found
it with a "DFX". Another hit for the :icon_king:
Congratulations, and goes to show; a place is never hunted out.

Now that's what I call doing a one-eighty! One of these days, that thimble is going to be silver; keep hunting!
