1830's indian trade whatsit?

Recovered from a purley 1830's site, its soft metal probably lead, with a small pattern on it. my best guess is some sort of seal for a jar or something but i really dont know im not sure if a lead seal was ever even a thing.

I get scrap lead from demolished homes (I cast lead balls for muzzleloaders) and the cast iron sewer pipe flange joint filled with plumbers lead looks JUST like that.

Ive Been over the site many times, Seems to be no evidence of a structure, no glass, brick fragments, concrete, only recovered about 10-15 square nails. certainly not one with any plumbing. the area was indian country in the 1830's and sits on top of a small bluff on a rounded hill split by small creeks there isn't much level ground for a building. but maybe you are still on to something, I do find gun parts and a bullet mold, maybe the Indians traded or salvaged the lead from somewhere to use to make bullets.

Possibly the remains of a tobacco jar. From the 17th C until late 19th C some jars were made of lead.
