Got my new coil so this was the first time out this season.I was hunting along some railroad tracks that have had a little construction going on around them.Tracks are right along a river.First hit for the1883 Indian and then the 1833 large cent..The ring is a little intersting looks to be old and is made of copper and what appears to be a gold plating on it there is a little writing on the inside but i have no clue so any help would be greatfull. The reverse of the large cent seams to have aged much better then the obverse altough the front of the coin is in much better shape then the photo shows..Thanks for looking and HH...

What state are you in ? and what are the soil conditions ?A lot of coins i get up here are in very bad shape but once in a while i can rub the coin enough to get the date with a magnifying glass.

Yes it was very long winter, and a very good start to the season. Is the ground still frozen up your way ?
