WOOHOO....this is my first silver coin find. I thought it was just another piece of iron or something. Was I wrong. I found the L Cent and other stuff yesterday. The 2 pieces of iron are pocket knifes.....sry for pick, had to use cellphone to take the pic. Was able to use scanner for coins.

Like Don said, "I have never found a Seated anything".

Some people were impressed 2 years ago when my 1st silver coin was a worn (but still pretty) SLQ.

FINDING AN 1841 SEATED DIME FOR YOUR 1ST SILVER IS *SERIOUSLY* IMPRESSIVE.

And I lust after a LC, too [musical reference: Robert Johnson, "Love in Vain"].

Congratulations on both! I'd say you're hooked to the Max..

Great finds. Both the seated and LC are in great shape. :icon_sunny:

You should try scanning the buttons on the scanner - you might be surprised at how good the scan comes out.

Congratulations on a nice dime and decent Large Cent. The Large Cent was clean enough and clear enough for me to attribute the variety and 1827 had 12 varieties, most are Common, several Scarce, and two Rare varieties. I am fairly certain yours is a Newcomb 6, one of the Scarce varieties.

Ty Don .......But I have a Question/ What is the difference between a newcomb 5 and 6. I looked at all the different varieties and they all look the same to me.

Can someone shed some light on this. what do i look for?

Congrats on the first silver, and you did it in style! That is a beautiful coin. To answer another question, there is no mintmark; they're huge on the back. The large is nice, too.
