1852 Slave Tag back from restoration

I found this about a year ago and posted it on treasurenet and decided to have it restored. Here's the before and after. Incredible work. It took about 8 months.

That is quite a find and restoration ...is there anyway to trace the history with that? A sad part of our history and not uncommon with the rest of the world at that time.
