It's a early Brigade camp that I've been hunting sense March. I was just concentrating on a Iron infested previous hotspot with a small stock coil instead of the usual 17" . I found a NY button and just started circling. The coin was the 4th target. Other then the big lead that came from another field everything was within 20 feet of the coin.

Damn that coin was so bright the darn camera could not even focus. AWSOME! You my friend are one of the lucky few people to get thier first gold coin on camera. Make sure to take a picture and frame it. A good pose is to neal on the ground where you found it with your detector and shovel with the coin in hand. This makes for a great pic and conversation piece. I had to go back and take my picture but its fun when people ask "Did you really find that coin" and I say "Yup! sure did and here is my picture" Good job and welcome to the "Gold Club"

To be honest I don't even look at the VDI readings in a camp like that. I crank the sensitivity all the way up and just listen for the low tones. With sensitivity cranked up the detector tends to false and chatter a lot, but the false is always a high tone. Any low tone is a target so if I hear any low tone I just zero in on it until I can make it repeat. Everything but the bullets were low tones and the insignia , nap sack hook and jay hook were just longer low tones.
