This doesn't look right for a Washington Arsenal .58 cal. minie with the star in the base. For starters, the star appears to have been on the nose of the bullet in the post above instead of underneath. Not quite sure what this is.

Nice Indian Head! Those Copper-Nickel fatties are always great finds.

If anything, I would say you have some sort of a lead seal there or gaming piece. Probably the perfectly flat piece to the right of the piece with the star as well...

ya bb there's a bag tag next to it.. the star thing can't be a bullet,, it has 6 raised lines coming down the back there,,
definately not fired from a gun..... ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

nice finds green1 love the injun ;)

I vote it's a lead seal too. ;D But then again, what do I know? :D

Love the Injun! Good luck this weekend!! Nana ;)

IT looks like a Washington Arsenal bullet turned into a lead seal. If you look closely at the top, you will see the tip of the bullet. This person had to literally carve back the lead up and away from the star that sits in the base. He did a really good job at it AWESOME find!!!!!!!!! ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) IH is as well!!!!!! Keep the Civil War relics and era coins coming!

Green,
Nice old IH.
Way to go.
