Found at old farm/park this morning about 8 inches down (a couple of square nails in hole as well....)
Any way to clean the black off without damaging coin??

For some reason that is the one US coin I cannot seem to find. Nice job.
I see the total production of the 2-Cent Pieces was 45.6 Million so surely they are out there to be found!!

Keep on digging!!! Being 90% copper, I recall it showed up bouncing between 24 and 28 VDI on the Equinox 800.

That was a good find. Be careful cleaning it.

Very nice find:icon_thumleft:

Awesome job! Mind if I ask: what did that ring up as on the 800? I've never found one.
On the Equinox 800 the VDI was jumping around from 24 to 28 with occasional 30's popping in (there were a couple of small square nails in there as well). Was not a "boomer" target as location was on a fairly steep side hill and coin was at a roughly 30-degree angle to surface about 8 inches down...

So all in all a deep wheat penny signal...was sketchy, but really glad I dug it - makes me wonder what other great finds I have missed by not digging some of those....

Wasn’t happy with the olive oil soak on my nice 2-cent piece. After a week it really darkened the coin to the point it was hard to see details…never again.

Thanks for letting me know the outcome you had - I decided not to do anything to mine except water and Dawn dish soap to get all the dirt off. As good as it is going to get!!

Hope you find another!!

If you have any pics of ones you've done (before and after) I would like to see them to see the results!!
PM me, I'll send you a link to my website and you'll see the results of Indians cleaned with the boiling peroxide method.

Nice! Not bad shape either! Congrats!

one of my fav US coins - WTG :icon_thumleft:
